These would make a lovely housewarming gift, or would be a cute addition to your kitchen or bathroom.  I’m tempted to keep these for myself since they are so cute, but I wish to pass them on to my dear readers.   To entered into this contest, all you have to do is post a comment and suggest a nifty etsy shop to me.  I’m open to any kind of item, anywhere, as long as it’s handmade with love.  Who knows, you might see an article about it here on nchanxetsy!

This giveaway is open to everyone.  I will announce the winner on Monday morning via a random generator.  Again, good luck to you all.

Wedding Illustrated

My word, has it really been three days since I’ve posted?  Between the heat wave, the constant housework, career planning, and raising my son, I haven’t had a lot of time to myself lately.  I am so terribly sorry for all the hustle and bustle.  But now that my laptop and I are together again, I will do my best to make blogging magic for your dear readers, all three of you.  Okay, seriously, all six of you (joking!).

Because I’m currently working on my indie wedding zine, I’ve got illustrations on the noggin (because I need illustrations for my zine!  I can’t draw worth anything).  I found these wedding illustrations on etsy, and I just had to share.

Embroidered Messages and Love Letters

On Etsy’s blog, they had a nice little write up on handmade items that are sure to make your back-to-school experience a lot more stylish.  I saw one item that I’d love to buy in the future, because it’s so cute and reminds me of a craft I’d like to take up.

This would be the perfect “message board” for my little office (if you call a corner in the living room an office).  This item from blissinateacup has character and charm.  It’ll probably be snatched up at the end of the day, so I hope there is another one available down the line!

My Notebook Fetish…

…etsy doesn’t help me to quell it at all.  Especially since I found this pretty little argyle journal by disconsolator.

Me.  Want.

The Beauty of a Dice Bag

I received my husband’s dice bag today.  He plays both Magic: The Gathering (a collectible trading card game) and Dungeons and Dragons (a fantasy role-playing game which spawned a bad-ass cartoon in the 80s), and needed something to keep everything together.  So I had a bag commissioned by kitschkitty via etsy’s alchemy feature:

Isn’t it cute?  Now my husband will be able to keep his accessories in style, while still being manly.  Thanks, kitschkitty!

A Beautiful Veil

My husband is suck with a chest infection (yuck!) and my son is being fussier than usual, so I haven’t had time to surf on etsy.  But when I saw this offering from Designs from Portobello, my jaw hit the floor hard.  I think I’m going to need to call the dentist.

Isn’t this GORGEOUS?!  I mean, honestly, I’ve always believed that a good birdcage veil and a traditional veil can be an elegant combination, but HOT DAMN, this combination is just drool-worthy.  I know this shop will definitely have a customer in me later on this year!

Ode to Princess Lasertron

Ever since Megan Hunt posted on the Livejournal Wedding Plans Community about her wedding, completely with bi-coloured crinoline and felt flower bouquet, I have salivated over Princess Lasertron bouquets.  When my husband and I married back in 2007, I had a flower bouquet that while beautiful, was quickly forgotten about.  Now that I get to plan my renewal, the heirloom quality of the bouquets are appealing.  And since I have a son for now, I can enjoy the bouquet all by myself.

I won’t be showing my bouquet here because she hasn’t really pushed them yet (and I don’t want to impose), but it’s really pretty, especially on my budget.  She spends countless hours making felt squares into this beauties here, usually in colour combinations that are candy for the eyes.  I wish I’d have known about her sooner, because if I had, I’d have asked for one of these babies for my wedding in Alaska.

In the time I have worked with Megan, I must say she is the sweetest person I’ve met.  Her blog is a daily read for me, and from the first email, she has been nothing but kind and understanding.  She’s doing my bouquet, the boys’ bouts, and my grandmother-in-law’s special pin, though I might need to order another one.  I can’t wait to see them.  Either way, she’s been a real peach, and I wish I had half the talent she does.

No two bouquets are alike, and each one is its own special entity.  Megan works hard on her orders, and she makes her brides, myself included, feel very special.  If you aren’t getting married, fear not, though!  She also makes corsages (wouldn’t that be awesome for prom?), bouts, button stems for both everyday and special events, and even headbands!  She has something for everyone!  So run, don’t walk, to Princess Lasertron’s main site, and her page on etsy.  In the meantime, I will dream about how pretty my bouquet will be, and when it’s done, you’ll see it here!
