Invite In Style

I found my dream wedding invitations today.  Sure, they are one the high side – $9.00 USD per invite – but boy, are they ever gorgeous.

I’m surprised that ErGoslin4, the creator of this loverly invite, isn’t flooded with brides wanting these too gorgeous invitations.  (Then again, they may be, what do I know?)  Boxed invites such as these can cost as much as $200 USD each.  This is a fraction of the cost.  I must have them for my wedding.  I’m sure another bride out there will feel the same way.

Such a Delicate Flower

I was perusing etsy for winter-inspired accessories when I caught this beautiful flower.  I gasped so loud, I almost awakened my son.

Brasspaperclip has this and other floral lovelies in her etsy shop.  I would love to wear this with my veil on my wedding day.  It reminds me of a sparkling snowflake – perfect for a winter wedding.

I hope I can nab it soon…

Be Favoured

(I know a blog isn’t the right place to practice Canadian spelling, but humour me here)

I finally got the documents I needed to get my vow renewal started in the Catholic Church (I didn’t marry there last time).  So now that my husband would like a small ceremony/reception since a lot of our family couldn’t see the first wedding, I’m looking into items to buy on etsy now.  I found these this morning.

FayeHubele makes these beautiful items on etsy.  I think they are so cute, especially in the lavender.  And at $62 USD, it’s not too bad.  Just buy these as a bad of Hershey’s Kisses, and all of my family will feel the love, ha ha.

Baby K’s Onesies: An Update

Both twenty-sided die onesies I had made for Baby K are ready for shipment!!  I’ve been overloaded with progress pictures, and I am very pleased with what I see.

Let’s start off with the onesie created by HappyHobbs:

Isn’t it cute?  I think I’ll get him to wear this onesie during Friday Night Magic.

Now, let’s look at the onesie created by Jea of Jake and Lucy:

I’m really in love with this onesie.  Blue is Nigel’s (my husband’s)  favourite colour, and he is really getting into Dungeons and Dragons.  Nigel saw the finished product and loves it.  I can wait until we debut this at his birthday party in August.  The baby might even wear it on DnD nights afterward.

Thank you so much HappyHobbs and jakeandlucy!  I recommend the work of these two ladies to anyone who’d like a onesie made for their little one.

Impulse Buy: Notebook Fetish

I just couldn’t help myself.  I have a serious notebook fetish, I’m always collecting them.  Luckily for me, though, I found very affordable notebooks on etsy that are not only custom made, but personalized.  Check it out!

I bought these beautiful mini notebooks from Shalom’s Cottage Home.  Aren’t they cute?  I figure they’ll help me with keeping notes about my zine.  And with pretty designs such as these, they will continue to fuel my notebook obsession.

Etsy Unboxed: Custom Messenger Bag

I am so terribly behind, but I received my bag from Zoe’s Bag Boutique Monday (or was it Tuesday).  The bag is smaller than I thought it would be, but what it might lack is size, it makes up for in fabulousness.

Isn’t it gorgeous?!  My husband is trying to take it from me!  Can you believe that?  It must be that good!

And a little bonus…

Baby K is shy for the camera, so sadly, no picture of him.

My Maxi Dress: An Update

Once again, Jennafer Grace sent me pictures of the maxi dress I wanted made:

This dress looks a lot like the Angelina Jolie maxi dress I sent her a picture of.  It looks so comfy!  I hope a nice day arrives here, so I can show it off.

Impulse Buy for You!

I searched for items that were between $1.00USD and $2.00USD.  I totally wasn’t expecting to buy anything.  But I found some nice items, and guess what?  They are all for the giveaway next month!

These pretty pairs of earrings are courtesy of elizavella on etsy (of course).  Aren’t they pretty?  And two readers in August will win these pairs!  Seriously, etsy, your awesomeness knows no bounds.

The Craft of Writing – Update

So, in addition to writing content for new zine, I have already racked up some awesome talent to create the covers:

Aislinn of Icing Prints will kindly be helping me for the first four issues.  She does amazing work with business cards and other kinds of stationary, so I’m really excited to be working with her.

mogencreative will be creating a cover as well.  I looked over her portfolio, and I was amazed.  How I can find a great person on my meager budget, I will never know.

My blog will be named “hippopotamus♥kalamazoo”, based on a inside phrase between myself and my husband.  I am furiously working on it, getting the first issue out by the beginning of September.  Readers will be able to get it at a special price.  You’ve heard it here first!

Sookie’s Nightgown: An Update

Jennafer Grace sent me pictures of the completed nightgown I get to purchase on Friday.  Why don’t they make them like these anymore?

Why don’t they make them like this anymore?  I can’t wait ’til I get this beautiful number in my hands, and I can assure you there will be pictures.  It doesn’t get hot here in terms of climate, but we have our moments, and this gown will help me get through them.
